아무튼 오늘 가져온 야구에서 나온 관용어는 “강경한 자세를 취하다”, “세게 나가다”의 의미를 가진 “play hardball (with somebody)”이라는 표현 입니다.
70년대 야구경기에서 공인구가 기존의 공(soft ball)보다 좀 더 딱딱한 공으로 변경되면서 사용하기 시작한 표현이라고 하는데요.
기존 공보다 딱딱한 공 (Hard ball)을 쓰려다 보니 공격도 수비도 좀 빡세게 해야 했나봐요. 😆
