Schroeder : I can't believe you threw my piano into the sewer.

Lucy : Your piano was my competition. Now you have no choice but to love me.

Schroeder : Now I have no choice but to climb down into the sewer.

Schroeder: 이제 하수구 안에 내려가는 수밖에 없겠네
Charlie : Schroeder?

Charlie: Schroeder?
Schroeder : Hello! Charlie Brown, Lucy threw my piano in the sewer. 

Schroeder : 안녕! Charlie Brown, Lucy가 내 피아노를 하수구에 던졌어.
Charlie : It's raining. Get out of there before you drown.

Charlie : 비가 오잖아. 빠져 죽기전에 거기서 나와.
Schroeder : I couldn't hold on to the piano. The rain has probably swept it out to the river by now. Let's go. Huh, I'll bet Beethoven never had to put up with this. There it goes.

피아노를 잡을 수 없었어. 아마 지금쯤이면 강 쪽으로 쓸려 나갔을 거야. 가자. 내가 확신하는데 Beethoven은 이런 일을 참지 않았을 거야. 저기 떠나간다. 
Charlie :  Are we sure that was your piano? 

그게 정말 네 피아노 였을까?
Lucy : Couldn't catch your piano, uh? It floated out to sea. Huh, oh well, if you were to play it now, you'd just strike a sewer note, anyway.

피아노를 못 잡았구나?  그건 바다로 떠내려갔어. 허, 오 그래, 아무튼 네가 만약 지금 피아노를 치면 그건 하수구 음계 일거야.  내가 알아야 할 다른 경쟁자라도 있어?

 

 

자주 쓰이는 영어 회화 패턴/표현:

 

why don't you + 동사원형 : ~하는게 어때? 하고 권장이나 가벼운 명령의 느낌으로 쓰이는 경우도 많지만 본문에서는 문맥상 "왜~ 하지 않아?"라고 직역하는게 알맞아 보여요.

profound : (영향, 느낌, 경험, 지식 등이) 엄청난(/깊은, 심오한)

I can't believe : 믿겨지지 않아 (이미 일어난 일이나, 경험한 일에 대해 말할 때 어울리는 표현이에요.)
