우리가 너무 바쁘고 정신 없을 때 쓰는 표현중에 ‘손이 모자라다’라는 표현이 있죠?

영어에도 이와 비슷한 표현이 있는데요. 바로 “have one’s hands full”이라는 표현 입니다.

직역하자면 ‘누군가의 손이 꽉 차 있다’라는 뜻일 텐데요. 무슨 뜻인지 떠올리기 쉬운 표현이죠?

‘손에 올려진 일이 너무 많아’ 즉, “너무 바쁘다”, “(다른 일을 할) 짬이 나지 않는다” 정도로 해석 할 수 있는 표현 입니다.

일상회화에서는 ‘have’ 대신 ‘got’을 ‘hands’ 대신 ‘plate’를 사용하기도 하니 참고하세요.
